Retirement by Design Program

No matter at what stage in life you find yourself, we will work with you to make sure that you’ve considered and taken the necessary steps to enjoy a financially secure, abundant retirement. We consider retirement to be that point at which you stop earning an income.

There are two distinct phases: Accumulation phase and Liquidation phase

During this period of generally 30 to 40 years before you retire, you will need to start thinking about the following questions:

  • When would I like to retire?
  • How much do I need to save in order to reach my long term goals?
  • What rate of return must I achieve on my existing portfolio in order to stay on track to retirement?
  • What performance have I achieved on my existing portfolio?

The program covers a comprehensive review of the following:

  • Prioritizing your goals and objectives for your retirement;
  • Financial projections built on assumptions that we prepare together;
  • Analysis of existing employer benefit programs and pension plans;
  • Estimates of what existing private and government pensions will pay;
  • Review of existing savings programs and their adequacy;
  • Determination of risk tolerance and asset mix based on a completed questionnaire;
  • Tax efficient investing;
  • Tax minimization;
  • Advantages/disadvantages of saving through registered and non registered accounts;

Within this phase, there are 2 subcategories where planning can save significant amounts of money:

Between 60 - 71 After 71
